Smiles for Daddy

We're pretty sure that Matthew saves up his smiles all day for his daddy... Moises never fails to make him grin ear to ear! He even had him laughing out loud tonight for the first time :)

December in Chicago

John and Katie and Luca were able to stop by on a surprise overnight, since they got stuck in Chicago because of the snow. We were so happy to see them!

Tummy Time

Heather thought it was time for Tummy Time, Matthew thought otherwise...

"Christmas" with the Schulz

We had a great visit with Katie, Matthew's birthmom, and her family for "Christmas" a bit early. Matthew is destined to be a Blackhawks fan :) Amelie was thrilled with the Cubs socks she received from Katie and William (since he is a White Sox fan). She could hardly believe that William would even buy them for her!

Moises' Brother's Wedding

In mid-December, Moises' brother Javier married Yorly. We had great food and lots of Puerto-Rican music and dancing!

Amelie and her friends at school

Amelie and her friends made this city by the water together in pre-school. She was happy to show me each part that she painted or colored.

Nana's Surprise Visit

We received a phone call from Nana and the next day we were picking her up from the airport. We were thrilled to have her here and for her to meet Matthew for the first time.

While she was here, we went downtown for the Christmas Parade. This is the parade that turns on the lights on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Of course, we saw Mickey and Minnie.

While Nana was here, she was able to babysit for us so that we could go to the St. Nicholas Ball. We had a fun time getting all dressed up for the ball.

Thanksgiving

This year we went to Fayetteville, Arkansas for Thanksgiving. It was our first time in Arkansas. We were able to see where Briant grew up. It was also Matthew's first flight. He did well. We had a great time of eating, playing croquet, visiting with Briant's family, playing board games, and just relaxing. Briant's family treated us like royalty.
Of course we had to have some southern cookin'. We went out for fried chicken:
We also had the chance to check out the Tyson corporate planes. Mr. McKenzie showed us around and Amelie had the chance to sit in the cockpit. She dreams one day of flying an airplane right next to her Uncle Briant and waving to him out of the window.
We also enjoyed a beautiful day at the University of Arkansas campus:
